I just got back from a winter trip into the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. I take this trip every year, however this year it was much colder than years passed. After a 6 mile cross-country ski trip through the dark forest, I arrived at Redfish lake a few minutes before sunrise. I had a place in mind to set up so I did so. I checked my thermometer, it read -34F, I was sweating from the ski trip, but it did not take long before my fingers and toes began to tingle. Concerns that my camera would not work were going through my mind. But as you can see, all was well. It was a great morning, and although extremely cold, I would not have wanted to be anywhere else.
