Sunrise over Sawtooth Mountain winter Idaho
This image goes way back. I took in in 2007 January. It is my first photo trip with a digital camera. Nikon D80. So my son got up early and drove to Stanley, Cross country skied for about an hour in the dark, By sheer luck found ourselves on this ridge just as the rising sun broke through the clouds. I had to scurry to try and get the shot, reflecting on every ounce of experience I had with film. To this day, this is still one of the more dramatic sunrises I have ever seen over the Sawtooths.
As I mentioned this image was taken back on 2007 and a re edited it this week. I think that with all that is going on with the social distancing and so many people staying at home, I invoked more of an ominous mood into the edit. I just hope that the silver lining seen in the middle is coming for all of us soon.
