Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho

Fall morning at the highest of the Bench Lakes in the Sawtooths

One of the longest hikes of my life I finally made it to my destination for the day. This lake is the upper Bench Lake in the Sawtooth National Forest. Nestled at the base of Mount Heyburn spring rewarded the peaks with a fresh layer of snow. This is the same layer of snow I had to hike through to get to this place. Looking at the scene I realize I am glad to have made the trek.
