Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho

Trip into the Sawtooth mountains last weekend yielded a variety of different weather, very typical for that region. On a few of the nights however the skies were very clear. If you have not been in the Sawtooths before and looked up at the starts, the air is so clear, and the number of stars visible is incredible. This image does not do it justice, but you can get an idea. The Milky-Way was so vivid. The trees made a nice frame and leading line for the image. This was a 30 second exposure with my aperture at F2.8. This is the first Milky-way image I have taken with my Zeiss 15mm 2.8. I was pleased with the sharpness and clarity that this lens provided, and it is now my night photography lens of choice.
