Milky Way over McGown Peak at Stanley Lake
I just got back from an incredible photography trip into the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. Great trip, not much sleep though. When you combine sunrises, sunsets, and night Milky way shots, that leaves exactly 3.5 hrs of sleep a night. It was all worth it. This is the first image I have edited from the trip. This is the "Milky Way" over McGown Peak shot across Stanley Lake. It was a 7 min exposure to try at get even the dimmest stars to show up. There was a slight crescent moon that was setting in the west that with such a long exposure lit McGown up a touch, mostly the snow.
