A perfect night for shooting the Milky-way up at Imogene Lake in the Sawtooth mountains of Idaho. This image may look a little different because the lake and foreground at light up. The reason that this was possible is that it is actually 2 different exposures. The foreground was shot at dusk just after sundown while there was still enough light to expose the lake. I them left my camera on a tripod without moving it, then, when it was dark enough I exposed for the Milky-way. I can tell you, I am not a patient person, and I had to become on for this shot. Total time for the sot a little over an hour from dusk to total darkness. I think it was worth it though.
