Winter Buck feeding in the forest

As I was coming back from the Ponderosa State Park in McCall Idaho, I found this Buck feeding out in the forest. What he was eating must have been good, as you can see he is licking his chops. This was a cold wintery morning and it had been snowing most of the night. When I first say this guy he was feeding under a tree. He had a mission, because he walked right past me to another field, could the grass have been greener?
