High Water at the Diversion Dam on Boise River
The Diversion Dam on the Boise River helps to divert water to the irrigation canals the feed the farm land of Southwest Idaho. In this image you can see the water flowing through the gates and into the Boise River. I used a telephoto lens to get up close to the water coming through the gates. I also played with my shutter speed to get just the right amount of blur. To achieve this in full sunlight, I set my ISO to 64 and closed my aperture to F20. This allowed for a 10th of a second exposure which was good to still keep detail in the water ripples at the gates themselves.
