Hiroshima Peace Park "A-Bomb Dome" night reflection
In case anyone noticed, I have been off line for the month of July. That was because I was in Japan, Hiroshima to be exact, for work, my real job. I did however spend my free time while there doing a little photography.
Yesterday, August 6th was the 70 year anniversary of the dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima. This dome was one of the few structures that withstood the blast. Impressive since the bomb hit less than half a block away. Hiroshima has reinforced the dome and built a park there called the peace park. I spent many hours here a week later in the afternoon. Thinking about what had happed in this spot so many years ago. Today Hiroshima is a beautiful thriving city with a very welcoming population.
I took this image first week in July. I really liked the reflection in the water. It gives it almost haunting appearance it has with the low lighting angle and the dark surroundings. This is the first image in the gallery. Over the last 4 weeks I covered almost 1000 miles all over the southern part of Japan, roughly 3000 images. So there will be many more to come, so stay tuned.
