Here is the story, I spent many years doing photography using film. When digital came out, I said stubbornly, not for me. Until one Christmas my wife bought me the newest Nikon camera on the market. I was a little apprehensive about it but decided I would give it a try. My older son and I decided to take it on a test run into the Sawtooths. So we left the house at 3:30AM and drove to a pull off near Stanley, at the time it was dark, and I was not too sure where we were. We strapped our skies on and skied for about 4 miles to the top of a small ridge. Just then the sun began to rise. I got the camera out and then this picture happened. I had no tripod, It was set up to shoot everything auto, and about all I knew to do with this new digital object was push the shutter release. To this day it is one of my personal favorite pictures of the Sawtooths that I have taken. Maybe it is because of the picture or the memory of that morning.
